Brahmagiri Hills

Not for the faint-hearted, Brahmagiri Hills, wedged between Wayanad and Kodagu district of neighbouring state Karnataka, is great for moderately-challenging treks

There’s plenty to stop and stare at along the way, from forests to wildlife and small waterfalls, at a little more than 3 hours to the summit which is about 1608 m high. The 10-km trek begins from the forest department’s camp at Thirunelli. There’s no room for exhaustion with the invigorating energy sources of nature to keep your spirits high. The best part is that Brahmagiri offers something for everybody, be it the abundant landscape for nature lovers, the ancient temple at Thirunelli for the devout or wildlife photography for the shutterbugs. Thirunelli temple, an ancient structure, is dedicated to Lord Maha Vishnu. It sits on the side of Brahmagiri Hills. The peak attracts trekkers, camping enthusiasts, bird-watching club members and photographers.
