A short walk takes you to the first tier of the fall from the parking ground while the second tier can be reached by trekking up the steps built over boulders. The third tier is the toughest, requiring you to cross the stream over slippery rocks with the help of ropes. Once on top, you will be welcomed by the breathtaking views of Banasura Sagar Dam and the surrounding valleys. Before planning the trip, make sure that you do not mistake Banasura Meenmutty Waterfalls for the Meenmutty waterfalls near Meppadi. The latter was closed four years ago. It can only be seen from a viewpoint close to Meppadi - Gudalur road. The Banasura Meenmutty Waterfalls is 5 km from Banasura Sagar Dam, 25 km from Kalpetta and 48 km from Sultan Bathery.
